Microwave ovens are the easiest cooking appliance in the kitchen, but they also can be the messiest and hardest to clean. Does last night’s dinner exploding all over the inside ring a bell? Cleaning off stuck on food debris can be a pain, especially when it’s been left awhile. Thankfully, there are some easy ways to loosen up all that gunk and make cleaning a lot easier.
Vinegar and Water
Take a bowl and fill it with water and add a small amount of vinegar. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat for five minutes. This will make the inside steamy, and make wiping off stuck on food much easier.
Wet Paper Towel
Another quick way to clean a microwave is to use wet paper towel. Take a handful of paper towels and thoroughly wet them with water. Place the wet paper towels inside your microwave and run it on high for 3-5 minutes. The steam from the towels will soften the grime and caked on food debris. Once the towels have cooled, you can use them to wipe off the remaining debris with ease.
For this, take a fresh lemon and cut it in half. Place it on a plate with a tablespoon of water and stick it in the microwave for about a minute or until the lemon is hot and the inside of the microwave is steamy. Once that happens, remove the lemon and white down a cloth. Now the inside of your microwave is clean and smells lemony fresh.
